Autoping is a free menu bar indicator that shows you the current quality of your internet connection at a glance. It's particularly helpful for those who roam on variable connections, e.g. via mobile phones.

If you find yourself always using the command line "ping" to check your connection latency or quality, give this a try instead!

What's New
Now uses a "bars" indicator similar to a mobile phone to indicate connection quality instead of the old traffic light.
The system font and colours are now used, to better match the default menu bar icons. Now behaves correctly in Yosemite's "dark mode".
Added a choice to show just the icon, just the text, or both.
Added a tooltip displaying the current latency and packet loss to the menu bar icon.
Added an option to pop up an alert and play a sound when we detect the connection goes up or down (off by default).
