What's New

We've fixed a crashing issue caused by Apple's Xcode 8 IDE. It was adding a setting that caused Mac OS to reject running Mr. Tides. Very irritating! We've recompiled with Xcode 7.3.1, and Mr. Tides runs successfully again. We've also fixed problems showing and dismissing the information views and Anchor Aid.

We've decided to change the name of Mr. Tides to "AyeTides Mac". This will tie this app in to our iOS applications, and reduce confusion. This change will happen on the next major release.

4.3.8 saves a unit change so the next time you open the station, the units are restored. We also fixed a crash after updating the database, fixed a problem with displaying some currents stations, fixed crashes in some table views, and addressed issues that XCode 8 reported to us.

4.3.7 fixes problems with printing the text pages, fixes a problem with the map view if you resize the view, fixes a crash that occurred for some users, and updates the database. We now have over 12,500 stations!

IF YOU ENCOUNTER AN ERROR WHEN RUNNING THE UPDATER ON OS X 10.11, YOU MUST DOWNLOAD THE VERSION MANUALLY.

OS X 10.11 introduces a new security feature that blocks all unsecure network connections. We've fixed the problembut the old build won't be able to successfully check for updates. The solution is to go to our website anddownload the new version by clicking on the link.

For previous versions we've fixed several issues:

  • The text view shows all the pages, not just the first one
  • Printing the text view now prints all pages
  • Printing the calendar does not mess up printing any other view
  • Fixed secondary stations that are in different time zones than their reference station
  • the text view now showss all the days of the month
  • the graph now displays the data correctly for all stations
  • we've fixed a few small UI issues with the Find and Distance lists
  • fixed a small time zone naming issue.
  • The map now redraws quicker when you're selecting a region
  • The currents stations now show up in the lists in bold
  • We've also made the lists a little easier to read, by making the stations a little bigger
  • We've fixed the Anchor Aid panel, we had introduced a bug in a previous build that stopped it from working
  • And we've fixed a few minor bugs here and there
  • we've fixed a problem when you're using MacENC or GPSNavX to look for tides (we weren't coming up with the list)
