Pixel Winch is a screen measurement app with a unique approach. Rather than overlaying complicated controls on top of your existing workflow, it combines aspects of a traditional image editor with the quick access of a modal interface (similar to OS X's Launchpad or Dashboard).
Select a region on the screen to load it inside of Pixel Winch. The captured region will automatically magnify and center on your display. Take measurements using any combination of the included tools. When finished, simply press escape to dismiss Pixel Winch.
Need to look up previous measurements? No problem - use the history list to revisit past images. Worried about images clogging up your hard drive? Pixel Winch can be configured to automatically delete them.
Multiple selection support.
Guides may be placed when using the grapple tool (via Control key). This allows easier measuring from a text baseline (Place guide on baseline, then grapple from the guide to an edge).
Hold down Shift when placing a grapple to bypass guides and rectangles.
Function keys may now be used for keyboard shortcuts.
Added "Toggle screenshots" keyboard shortcut.
"Show screenshots" shortcut no longer dismisses the window.
Press space bar when capturing to enable window capture mode.
Press space bar on the canvas to temporarily activate the Hand Tool. Hold down Command or Option to temporarily zoom in or out.
Clipboard image import.
Better transparency support.
