Are you looking for better control of the sound volume in OS X? BetterVolume is a replacement for the stock volume control that provides more granular control of the volume level.Click on the menu bar icon, and adjust the volume by moving the slider up and down (just like the standard OS X control works)
BetterVolume allows you to use the shift key when changing the volume to adjust the volume in quarter-level increments. Also, it gives you the option to show the current volume as a number.
Here's how it works:
Click on the menu bar icon, and use the up and down arrows (again, just like the standard control works)
Click on the menu bar icon, and use the up and down arrows while holding shift to increase or decrease the volume in quarter-level increments.
Use the mute, volume up, or volume down global hotkeys to change the volume. Hold down shift to adjust the volume in quarter-level increments.
If your volume controls share the F10, F11, and F12 keys on your keyboard you can use the Wizard in BetterVolume to walk you through keeping your volume hotkeys the same. Or you can assign whichever hotkeys you wish.
